Believe it or not, this was actually the first project I turned in for my comics grad school art class. The assignment was to take characters from an established work and drop them into a very different world, but to unify the characters with the world. Naturally I decided to draw Merlin and Arthur as hipsters in my hometown.
This piece had to be done entirely in line work with no hatching, no shading and no spot blacks. We were using ink and dip pens. This was done with a crow quill and hunt nibs 104 and 102 with Higgins Black ink.
